The compact and productive plants carry large round chillies, the central core of which can easily be pulled out. Big Bomb is among the easiest of chillies to grow, and as well as being useful in the kitchen makes an ornamental plant.
Bombs are a type of chilli used for stuffing. Remove the core with all the seeds attached (easier than it sounds), and you are left with a hollow sphere which can be filled with a stuffing containing meat, cheese or vegetables. The filled chillies are then baked in the oven, standing in a little water. Big Bomb has very thick sweet flesh with only a very mild pungency.
